Methods to get rid of nausea at home.

• Sit Upright and Keep the Body in a Reclined Position

We are always advised not to sleep with our backs immediately after eating. Sleeping with the back causes the gastric juice in the stomach to go up thus causing you to feel nausea. On the other hand, if you already feel nauseate, it is advisable that you avoid crunching your stomach area since it causes discomfort. So, what should you do? Sit on a chair to prevent the gastric juice from coming up the stomach, and also position your upper body in a reclined position. This ensures that your stomach is in straight form, a great way to prevent vomiting, and it also helps reduce the feeling of nausea.

• Be in a Well -Ventilated Area

This is essential if a lousy foul has caused the nausea feeling in the room where you are at. By opening the windows, you will be able to let in fresh air in the place, and let out the bad foul. Also, the fresh air that circulates in the room causes the issue to ease up. If the area you are at does not have windows or they are already opened, consider using other methods to add more fresh air maybe like sitting in an area that has a fan.

• Apply a Cooling Compressor

In most cases, nausea causes one to feel a lot of heat in the body, or high temperatures on the body may cause it. Therefore, if either of the two issues brings the problem, start off by reducing the number of clothes in the body. Then get a cooling compressor and press it around the neck and chest area for few minutes. This helps to reduce the body temperatures thus getting rid of the nausea problem.

• Drink Pure Water

Taking water when you feel nausea is recommended since it helps to relieve the feeling and even prevent you from vomiting. The water reduces the body temperatures and also takes the gastric juice down if it is the one causing you to have nausea feeling. If possible take cold water and avoid adding any additives such as sugars, lemon or even ginger and take plain water.

• Eat Small Portions of Food and Eat Slowly

As we saw earlier, eating a significant portion of food plus eating at a fast speed may cause you to feel nausea, and sometimes this may lead you to vomit. This is because the food takes a long time to digest thus causing the piling of the menu on the stomach. The nausea feeling is brought about by the stomach trying to create more space for the swallowed food, and in this case, one may end up vomiting.a
